The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the death sentence awarded to Yaqub Memon in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, till further orders.

Besides actor Sanjay Dutt, four other convicts in the 1993 bomb blast case on Thursday surrendered before a designated TADA court which took them into custody to serve their remaining sentence.
His brothers Essa and Yusuf Memon and their sister-in-law Rubina Memion were sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the March 12, 1993 serial blasts, which claimed over 250 lives and injured hundreds of others.
Sanjay Dutt is among the 123 accused in the case.

Memon, 53, was found guilty of conspiracy in 2007 for the serial blasts that killed over 250 people.
Yakub Memon, who was hanged on Thursday for his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts, had reacted with an angry outburst saying "innocent people are being called terrorists" when a TADA court in Mumbai had pronounced him guilty on September 12, 2006.
